Private Violin Teacher
About The Position
Musicologie Prosper is seeking an accomplished, energetic violin teacher to provide private lessons to beginner through advanced students of all ages and abilities. The studio offers primarily in-person instruction, with online lessons only by exception. Teachers help students identify their goals and progress through a related curriculum, encourage participation in performances and group classes, and deliver a welcoming, high-quality lesson experience. The role is a flexible, part-time opportunity that may complement an existing teaching or performance schedule. Most teaching hours take place after school, in the evenings, and on weekends. The studio supports teachers with enrollment, scheduling, billing, training, shadowing, educational resources, and a collaborative community.
Requirements
- Excellent violinist with experience teaching violin to students of different ages and skill levels.
- Bachelor's degree in violin performance or music education, or equivalent experience.
- Strong in-person and email communication skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Able to work evening and/or weekend hours.
- Interested in helping students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children and families; early childhood experience with children under five is a plus.
- Experience teaching viola, cello, or double bass.
Responsibilities
- Teach private violin lessons to students of varying ages, abilities, and skill levels.
- Help students identify their musical goals and progress through curriculum related to those goals.
- Encourage student and community involvement through performances and group classes.
- Learn and follow Musicologie's educational philosophy, curriculum, and processes.
- Deliver an outstanding lesson experience to every student and family.
- Collaborate with other Musicologie teachers and managers to improve teaching capabilities.
