About The Position

Musicologie is seeking a private strings teacher with expertise in violin and cello. The teacher works with students of all ages and abilities, helping them identify musical goals and progress through curriculum related to those goals. The role includes guiding students on their musical journey and encouraging community involvement through performances and group classes.

Teachers are expected to learn and apply Musicologie’s philosophy of education, curriculum, and processes, and to deliver an outstanding lesson experience to every student and family. Musicologie describes its approach as rooted in creating a safe learning environment and education through play, and offers teacher training, shadowing, clear upward mobility, innovative programs and technology, and a collaborative community of teachers and music lovers.

Requirements

• Expertise in violin and cello.
• Excellent musicianship.
• Teaching experience on the instrument.
• Experience working with children and families.
• A bachelor’s degree in the instrument or equivalent experience.
• Strong in-person and email communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Self-motivation.
• Ability to work evening hours.
• Interest in learning new things and helping students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.
