Private Voice Teacher - Musicologie Center City
About The Position
Musicologie is hiring a Private Voice Teacher for its Center City location in Philadelphia, which is opening in early 2027. The teacher will work with students of all ages and abilities, helping them identify goals and progress through curriculum tailored to those goals. Teachers serve as friendly guides on students’ musical journeys and encourage community involvement through performances and group classes. Musicologie describes its approach as a community-focused organization offering music lessons to people of all ages and abilities. Its approach includes the Musicologie Method, which emphasizes a safe environment and learning through play; an education philosophy centered on everyone deserving a great teacher; training, shadowing, and clear opportunities for advancement; innovative programs and technology; and a collaborative community of teachers. The teacher is expected to learn and follow Musicologie’s education philosophy, curriculum, and processes; deliver an outstanding lesson experience to every student and family; and collaborate with other teachers and managers to improve everyone’s capabilities. Applicants should be excellent musicians, warm and friendly communicators, organized, self-motivated, curious, and excited to help students become passionate, proficient musicians. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the applicant’s instrument, or equivalent experience.
- Teaching experience on the applicant’s instrument.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Excellent musicianship.
- Strong in-person and email communication skills.
- Organization and self-motivation.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new things.
- Ability to work evening hours.
