About The Position

Musicologie Center City is seeking a Private Drum Teacher for its Philadelphia center, which is opening in early 2027. The teacher will work with students of all ages and abilities, helping them identify their musical goals and progress through curriculum tailored to those goals. They will guide students on their musical journeys and encourage community involvement through performances and group classes. The role involves learning and applying Musicologie’s philosophy of education, curriculum, and processes; delivering an outstanding lesson experience to every student and family; and collaborating with teachers and managers to develop the capabilities of the team. Musicologie describes its approach as creating a safe, playful learning environment, providing training and shadowing, offering opportunities for upward mobility, and using programs and technology to make teaching and learning engaging.

Requirements

Excellent musicianship.
Teaching experience on the drum instrument.
Experience working with children and families.
A bachelor’s degree in the instrument or equivalent experience.
Strong in-person and email communication skills.
Organization and self-motivation.
Ability to work evening hours.
Enthusiasm for helping students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.
Curiosity and willingness to learn new things.
