About The Position

Musicologie is hiring a Private Piano Teacher for its Center City Philadelphia location, which is opening in early 2027. The teacher will work with students of all ages and abilities, helping them identify their musical goals and progress through curriculum tailored to those goals. Teachers serve as friendly guides, encourage students through challenges, and promote community involvement through performances and group classes. Musicologie describes its teaching approach as rooted in creating a safe environment and educating through play. The organization provides training, shadowing, and opportunities for upward mobility, along with programs and technology intended to make teaching and learning engaging. Teachers are expected to learn and follow Musicologie’s educational philosophy, curriculum, and processes; deliver an outstanding lesson experience to each student and family; and collaborate with fellow teachers and managers.

Requirements

Excellent musician.
Teaching experience on piano.
Experience working with children and families.
Excellent communication skills in person and by email.
Strong organizational skills.
Self-motivated.
Curious and inspired to learn new things.
Able to work evening hours.
Bachelor’s degree in the instrument or equivalent experience.
