About The Position

Musicologie is seeking an expert musician to teach students of all ages and abilities at its Lafayette location, opening in early 2027. The teacher will help students identify their musical goals and progress through curriculum related to those goals, serving as a friendly guide throughout their musical journey. Teachers encourage community involvement through performances and group classes. The role emphasizes learning and applying Musicologie’s philosophy of education, curriculum, and processes; creating an outstanding lesson experience for every student and family; and collaborating with teachers and managers to strengthen the team’s capabilities. Musicologie describes its approach as community-focused, rooted in a safe environment, learning through play, and the belief that everyone deserves a great teacher. It offers training, shadowing, upward mobility, and programs and technology intended to make teaching and learning exciting.

Requirements

Be an excellent musician.
Be excited to help students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.
Communicate expertly in person and by email.
Be extremely organized and self-motivated.
Be curious and inspired to learn new things.
Be able to work evening hours.
Have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant instrument or equivalent experience.
Have teaching experience on the relevant instrument.
Have experience working with children and families.
