About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Preventive Maintenance Technician to maintain its fleet of Ford and GMC trucks using the company’s proprietary technology and equipment. The role is open to applicants seeking their first industry job as well as those with vehicle repair experience. U-Haul provides the tools needed for preventive maintenance work, opportunities to learn from experienced team members, and a Technician Training Program with classes from Ford, GMC, and U-Haul. A paid, hands-on working interview is offered, along with a $100 hiring bonus. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. U-Haul will not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in Pennsylvania, among other listed states.

Requirements

• Driver’s license.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
• Regular attendance.
• Ability to work safely and remain alert.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work and must not require employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Basic mechanical repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
• Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes, and replace minor parts.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles.
• Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
• Willingly assist in additional areas as necessary, following the supervisor’s directives and guidance.
