About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Preventive Maintenance Technician to maintain its fleet of Ford and GMC trucks and trailers. The technician uses U-Haul’s proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles, performing preventive maintenance with support and tools provided by the company. U-Haul offers on-the-job learning and a Technician Training Program with Ford, GMC, and U-Haul classes. The role is based at 1220 SW 8th St, Pompano Beach, Florida. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. A paid hands-on working interview is offered, and the posting advertises a $100 hiring bonus.

Requirements

Driver’s license.
Basic mechanical aptitude.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work both as part of a team and individually.
Regular attendance.
Ability to work safely and remain alert.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted, and to move frequently, stand, sit, and move beneath equipment.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Mechanical repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes, and replace minor parts.
Perform tire and brake maintenance.
Occasionally road-test vehicles.
Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
Provide assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the supervisor’s directives and guidance.
