About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for a Power Engineering Internship with our R&D Protection Systems department in King of Prussia, PA. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. Requirements

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with at least two years of technical coursework completed.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical power systems, including three‑phase circuits analysis and power flow.
  • Some knowledge of power systems operation, control and protection concepts.
  • Some experience with MATLAB, Simulink or PSCAD for power systems simulation.
  • Willingness to learn more about SEL protective relays and automation controllers.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Providing Technical support to SEL staff & customers.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
  • Performing testing on new and existing technology.
  • Documenting and communicating test results.
