About The Position

TRC, Member of WSP, is seeking a highly motivated and diverse Power Distribution Intern for its Summer 2027 internship program, based out of the San Diego, California office. The paid, full-time internship is anticipated to run from June through August 2027, with flexible timing. The role may transition into a full-time position upon graduation. The intern will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists. The position provides exposure to utility design standards, engineering workflows, and project delivery processes. The listed compensation range is $20.00 to $28.00 per hour; compensation varies based on experience, education, skills, location, and other compensable factors. The employee may also be eligible for the company's annual discretionary bonus program, contingent on company, business segment, and individual performance. Interns and trainees receive benefits in accordance with the laws of their state or country of residence.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's or associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Honest, fun, hard-working, and ready to learn and grow.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Some exposure to Finance.

Responsibilities

• Create distribution electric designs and design sketches that enable construction crews to build projects as needed.
• Prepare project site layouts for electrical power provision.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
