About The Position

Church’s Texas Chicken is hiring a POS Project Manager in its Information Technology department. Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Programs and Projects, this role leads two concurrent technology programs across approximately 770 Corporate and Franchise locations: a wave-based POS hardware and payment-device refresh, and a back-of-house (BOH) software platform migration. The position is based on-site at the company’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, with travel to restaurant locations as needed, up to 25%. The Project Manager works closely with restaurant technology leadership, technology vendors, field operations teams, and franchise partners. The role owns end-to-end program planning and execution, including integrated schedules, dependencies, risks, issues, deployment readiness, store-level tracking, vendor performance, and program communications. It also leads BOH migration and cutover planning, coordinates franchisee engagement, and drives resolution of defects and deployment blockers while minimizing disruption to restaurant operations. The successful candidate brings hands-on experience with large-scale POS hardware deployments and BOH software migrations in multi-unit QSR or retail environments, along with strong vendor management, communication, and issue-resolution skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience leading large-scale POS hardware deployment programs in a multi-unit QSR or retail environment, including programs of comparable scope involving hundreds of locations.
  • Experience managing restaurant or retail BOH software migrations, including cutover planning, franchisee or operator readiness, rollback protocols, and post-migration support in a live restaurant environment.
  • Experience managing concurrent technology programs across Corporate and Franchise locations and understanding the communication, scheduling, and change-management demands of franchise deployments.
  • Demonstrated vendor-management experience coordinating hardware installation vendors, software deployment partners, and logistics providers across geographically distributed programs.
  • Proficiency with project and portfolio management tools such as Monday.com, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed deployment plans tracking wave completion, store status, open issues, and risk across a portfolio of more than 700 stores.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including producing clear, audience-appropriate status reports and presenting program health to leadership, operations stakeholders, and franchise partners.
  • A direct, proactive, solutions-oriented approach to identifying deployment problems early and driving them to closure.
  • Working familiarity with in-store restaurant technology infrastructure, including POS terminals, payment devices, BOH servers, network hardware, firewalls, wireless access points, and structured cabling.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with QSR restaurant operations and the effects of POS and BOH technology changes on restaurant staff, service times, and guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end planning and execution for concurrent POS hardware upgrade and BOH software migration programs across approximately 770 Corporate and Franchise locations.
  • Maintain integrated program plans, milestone schedules, dependency maps, risk logs, and issue trackers for both workstreams.
  • Design and manage wave-based POS and payment-device deployments, coordinating installation vendors, equipment logistics, store scheduling, and pre- and post-installation validation.
  • Lead BOH software migration planning and execution, including cutover playbooks, rollback procedures, readiness checklists, and post-migration support protocols.
  • Track, prioritize, and drive resolution of required software enhancements and defects across POS, BOH, and payment-device platforms; coordinate vendor fixes and escalate risks to deployment waves.
  • Ensure locations meet and validate prerequisite platform requirements before going live.
  • Manage deployment vendors and hold them accountable for installation schedules, quality standards, and issue-resolution SLAs; conduct performance reviews and drive corrective action.
  • Develop and deliver audience-appropriate status reports, deployment-readiness updates, and escalation communications on a reliable cadence.
  • Engage franchise partners and their technology contacts to coordinate scheduling, communicate change impacts, address concerns, and build cooperation.
  • Identify, log, and resolve deployment blockers, technical issues, and scope risks, escalating with a recommended path forward.
  • Track deployment metrics, completion rates, open issues, and lessons learned to inform wave planning, vendor discussions, and leadership reporting.
