About The Position

The Porter maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the front of the house, including tables, counters, floors, windows, and the beverage station. The role supports smooth meal service by preparing and cleaning dining and service areas, washing dishes and equipment, keeping display equipment sanitary, and receiving and transporting deliveries safely. The position follows food safety, sanitation, temperature-control, and company safety procedures, including proper use of protective equipment and safe lifting practices.

Responsibilities

Ensure tables are bussed, cleared, and cleaned and floors are cleared and swept during peak service times and prepared before service.
Follow safety procedures when transporting dishes and utensils from the front of the house to the kitchen using trays, bus tubs, or carts.
Wash dishes, glasses, and pots; clean cooking stations and equipment while maintaining sanitation standards.
Scrape and rinse food from dishes, then wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor to a dishwashing machine, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
Keep display equipment clean, free of debris, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards during meal service.
Help receive heavy deliveries from the dock and transport them to assigned storage areas while observing safe lifting standards.
Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
Maintain a personal commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
Follow company policies and procedures, including use of cut-resistant gloves, appropriate heat-protective gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
