PORTER (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Canteen is hiring a full-time Porter in Hayward, California. The Porter maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the front of the house, including tables, counters, floors, windows, and the beverage station. The role supports smooth meal service by keeping areas and equipment clean, handling dishes, helping receive and move deliveries, and following food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. The schedule is full time, with days that may vary and hours of 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; further details are provided during the interview. Previous experience is preferred, and training is available. The position may require lifting 50 to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Bus, clear, and clean tables; clear and sweep floors during peak service and prepare them before service.
- Transport dishes and utensils safely from the front of the house to the kitchen using trays, bus tubs, or carts.
- Wash dishes, glasses, and pots; clean cooking stations and equipment while maintaining sanitation standards.
- Scrape and rinse food from dishes and wash them by hand or load them into racks or a dishwashing machine, ensuring they are clean and sanitized.
- Keep display equipment clean, free of debris, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards during meal service.
- Help receive heavy deliveries from the dock and transport them to assigned storage areas while following safe lifting standards.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, and follow HACCP standards.
- Follow company safety policies, including using appropriate protective gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
