About The Position
The Porter maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the front of the house, including tables, counters, floors, windows, and the beverage station. The role supports smooth foodservice operations by clearing and preparing dining areas, washing dishes and equipment, keeping display equipment clean, and handling deliveries safely. The position follows food safety, sanitation, HACCP, company safety, and other applicable policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Able to lift, move, and organize goods.
- Warewashing experience or ability to perform warewashing duties.
- Quality assurance oversight required.
- Follow safe lifting techniques and use required protective equipment, including cut gloves, heat-resistant gloves, and slip-resistant shoes.
Responsibilities
- Bus, clear, and clean tables; clear and sweep floors during peak service and prepare the area before service.
- Transport dishes and utensils from the front of the house to the kitchen using trays, bus tubs, or carts and following safety procedures.
- Wash dishes, glasses, and pots; clean cooking stations and equipment while maintaining sanitation standards.
- Scrape and rinse food from dishes, then wash them by hand or load them into the dishwashing machine as assigned; ensure dishes are clean and sanitized.
- Keep display equipment clean, free of debris, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards during meal service.
- Help receive heavy deliveries at the dock and transport them to assigned storage areas using safe lifting standards.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, and follow HACCP standards.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including required protective equipment and safe lifting practices.
- Maintain a personal commitment to personal and others’ safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
