About The Position

The Poker / Cage Cashier handles customer transactions at The Big Easy Casino. The role balances an assigned bank, exchanges currency, coins, and money equivalents, and checks bills for counterfeiting. Poker Cashiers cash out customer poker chips according to internal controls and department procedures; Cage Cashiers cash out slot tickets, assist other cage cashiers as needed, and work with floor attendants to cash out jackpots. The position is accountable for accurate and thorough departmental records and reports and provides professional, positive, and excellent customer service. Cashiers notify the appropriate floor representative, casino operations supervisor, or cash-handling supervisor about customer service issues. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Ability to obtain the appropriate state occupational license.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Keen attention to detail and ability to correct mistakes.
Basic computer skills or ability to learn.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of previous cash-handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately balance the assigned bank.
Exchange currency, coins, and money equivalents with customers courteously and in a timely manner.
Check bills for counterfeiting.
Cash out customer poker chips or slot tickets in accordance with internal controls and department procedures, depending on assignment.
Maintain accurate and thorough departmental records and reports.
Provide professional, positive, and excellent customer service to guests and patrons.
Advise the appropriate floor representative, casino operations supervisor, or cash-handling supervisor of customer service issues.
Assist other cage cashiers as necessary.
Work with floor attendants to cash out jackpots.
Perform other assigned duties.
