About The Position

Under general supervision, the Cage Cashier reconciles and dispenses casino cage cash, coin, and chips, and records credit office activities to ensure timely processing of transactions in accordance with established guidelines. The role requires careful handling and protection of large amounts of currency, accurate transaction records, and compliance with procedures and controls. The position also involves guest service and may require working as a window cashier.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
Demonstrated ability to accurately account for large amounts of cash.
Ability to be physically mobile and stand or walk for 8 to 12-hour shifts.
Excellent guest service and communication skills.
Ability to work in areas with dust, secondhand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibrations, crowds, and varying air quality.
Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
At least 1 year of experience directly related to the stated accountabilities.

Responsibilities

Protect large amounts of currency and help prevent loss through careful attention to detail.
Summarize and inventory casino cage cash, coin, chips, and records.
Process casino deposits.
Coordinate transactions between cashiers and the main bank.
Work as a window cashier as needed.
Maintain accurate and complete records of exchanges and transactions.
Follow procedures and controls to protect counted receipts.
Monitor for changes or problems that may affect currency security in the Count Room and report observations to the Count Room Supervisor.
Transfer corresponding documentation to the Accounting Department daily.
Prepare funds and proper documentation for transfers to the Cage Department.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
