PMTS Silicon Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD is hiring a PMTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductors and related devices. The role leads definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development, including architecture and logic design, system simulation, and definition of module interfaces and formats for simulation. The engineer develops CPU competitive-analysis solutions focused on x86, ARM, and other architectures, and builds and optimizes frameworks for generating targeted droop events in DI/DT analysis to support accurate power modeling. The role includes leading multidimensional integrated-circuit layout designs; making technical decisions across the process flow, from high-level design through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power; and testing and verifying hardware against specifications and requirements. As a technical leader across project or departmental boundaries, the engineer addresses issues affecting design or product success and future concepts, products, or technologies; drives projects or processes of significant technical importance; and applies engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to AMD product design, development, and testing. Multiple openings are available. Travel is not required.
