Silicon Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD is hiring a Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role involves applying electronic theory and engineering principles to AMD product design, development, and testing. Responsibilities may include ASIC definition, design, verification, and documentation; architecture and logic design; system simulation; and defining module interfaces and formats for simulation. The engineer will contribute to multidimensional designs involving complex integrated-circuit layouts and evaluate the process flow from high-level design through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. Work is of moderate scope and is performed under supervision, using defined company procedures and practices to select methods and evaluation criteria. Travel is not required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience performing hardware verification.
  • Experience with C, C++, or Python scripting.
  • Experience with Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Experience with CPU, GPU, or SoC architecture.
  • Experience with design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
  • Experience with ASIC design and tools, including synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
  • Experience with x86-64 architecture.
  • Required experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing.
  • Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation.
