Silicon Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD is hiring a Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role applies knowledge of electronic theory and engineering principles to AMD product design, development, and testing. It involves ASIC definition, design, verification, and documentation; architecture and logic design; system simulation; and defining module interfaces and formats for simulation. The engineer contributes to multidimensional designs involving complex integrated-circuit layout and evaluates the process flow from high-level designs through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. The position works on problems of moderate scope, reviewing various factors and exercising limited judgment under supervision and within established company procedures and practices. The role requires a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Required skills may be acquired through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience. Travel is not required. AMD describes its benefits as available in “AMD benefits at a glance,” but specific benefits are not listed in the posting.
