PMHNP/DNP Preceptorship (Jan 2027-April 2027)
About The Position
This is an unpaid preceptorship for Masters or doctoral level Nurse Practitioner students. The opportunity is for approximately 120-180 hours per preceptorship, starting in January and ending in April. The start date is flexible. The Nurse Practitioner/DNP student will be part of the continuum of care and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team. Supervision is provided in a 1:1 model by an assigned licensed Nurse Practitioner or physician. This preceptorship is strictly in-person, with no telehealth. Student expectations include learning 1:1 from a licensed NP or physician, readiness to learn from all experiences and patient populations, and patience and compassion when working with a challenging patient population. The preceptorship allows students the opportunity to be in the community where they will work with a professional in the same field.
Requirements
- Current Student of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Masters or doctoral level student
- Student must be enrolled at an academic institution that has an existing contract/affiliation agreement with Sheppard Pratt.
- Must be a licensed nurse (BSN)
- Must have psychiatric nursing experience.
