About The Position

The PM Server at The Hive is an engaging and enthusiastic restaurant ambassador who anticipates guests’ appetites through verbal and non-verbal cues, recommends menu items, and helps increase sales. The server works accurately and efficiently, prioritizes tasks, and strives to exceed guest expectations while providing cheerful, effective service.

Requirements

Basic math skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to speak, read, and understand English.
Clean and professional appearance.
Familiarity with and ability to use POS systems.
Must pass a background check.
Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Must be able to carry a full-service tray comfortably, stand and walk for long periods, and lift at least 50 pounds.
High school education or equivalent required.
Responsible, dependable, and punctual; demonstrates enthusiasm for 21c.

Nice To Haves

Experience in an upscale dining environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Report to work on time and ready for the scheduled shift.
Follow all steps of service.
Know the descriptions and ingredients of all menu items.
Know wines by the glass and at least five wines in each category on the wine list across varying price ranges and styles.
Know drink names, ingredients, preparation methods, appropriate glassware, and garnishes, as well as specialty beverages, beer, and related offerings.
Sell menu items with the goal of increasing overall sales.
Serve beverages and food cheerfully and efficiently.
Ensure the service station is properly stocked and complete all posted side work.
Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with coworkers and guests.
Provide a prompt, accurate report of all income received during the shift.
Maintain a clean, orderly appearance of the restaurant service area.
Complete tasks assigned by a supervisor.
Follow proper sanitation guidelines.
