About The Position

The Bartender at The Hive provides timely, accurate, and friendly service while preparing high-quality beverages for guests. The role serves guests behind the bar and coordinates smoothly with servers, while maintaining beverage knowledge, inventory, service standards, and a clean service area. The Bartender reports to the Beverage Manager and Food & Beverage Director.

Requirements

Responsible, dependable, and punctual.
Strong communication skills; able to speak, read, and understand English.
Clean and professional appearance.
Enthusiasm for 21c.
Strong beverage knowledge.
Must pass a background check.
Able to stand and walk for long periods.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Follow all steps of service and prepare drinks according to recipe standards.
Know drink names, ingredients, preparation methods, glassware, and garnishes.
Know wines by the glass and at least five wines in each category on the wine list across varying price ranges and styles.
Know specialty beverages, including single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, and beer lists.
Know menu descriptions for the bar menu and dining room menu.
Maintain stock at par levels, complete daily inventory, and inform servers, managers, and the bar back of changes.
Verify that all guests are at least 21 years old.
Provide a prompt, accurate report of all income received during the shift.
Sell beverages responsibly with the customer's best interest in mind.
Maintain a smooth flow of service between the bar and server requests.
Complete side work as outlined in the manual.
Arrive on time and ready to work scheduled shifts.
Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with coworkers and guests.
Maintain a clean, orderly appearance in the restaurant service area.
Assist with or execute tasks assigned by a supervisor.
Follow proper sanitation guidelines.
