About The Position

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll join Redcare Pharmacy’s platform team within the Data & AI department and contribute to building and evolving its next-generation AI Platform. You will work on the platform foundations that enable teams to develop, deploy, govern, monitor, and scale AI systems safely and reliably. The role offers ownership of platform components and improvements, working with Kubernetes, Databricks, cloud-native technologies, and modern AI platform patterns while supporting reliable and efficient systems.

Requirements

Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure and a good understanding of core cloud concepts such as compute, networking, storage, identity, and security.
Practical experience with containers and Kubernetes, and an understanding of how containerized workloads are deployed and operated.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
Experience creating or maintaining standard deployment pipelines and working with Git-based development and delivery workflows.
Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting production or platform environments, with the ability to resolve common operational issues independently.
Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Go, or Shell for infrastructure automation and platform tooling.
Basic understanding of Data, Machine Learning, or AI workloads and how infrastructure and platform capabilities support them.
Ability to take ownership of work, organize tasks independently, communicate progress and challenges, and proactively ask for input on unfamiliar or complex topics.
Comfort collaborating with engineers and stakeholders at working level and explaining technical topics clearly.
Curiosity and motivation to continuously improve technical skills and contribute to team documentation, knowledge sharing, and engineering practices.
Fluency in English.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with tools such as Helm.
Familiarity with Azure Databricks or similar Data & AI platforms, or strong motivation to develop hands-on expertise in this area.
German language skills.

Responsibilities

Build, configure, and maintain platform infrastructure in Microsoft Azure using Infrastructure as Code practices and tools such as Terraform.
Support the operation and continuous improvement of the Azure Databricks platform, including configuration, automation, monitoring, access management, and troubleshooting.
Operate and improve the Azure Kubernetes-based platform for the Data & AI department, supporting the deployment, management, and scaling of services using GitOps and CI/CD practices.
Implement platform changes and new capabilities following existing architecture patterns, security requirements, and engineering standards.
Contribute to reusable automation and self-service platform capabilities for engineering, Data, and AI teams.
Monitor platform health, investigate operational issues, resolve standard support cases independently, and escalate complex problems when appropriate.
Collaborate with Platform, Data, AI, MLOps, and Security colleagues and contribute to technical discussions, documentation, and platform improvements.
Participate in architecture and design discussions, provide technical input, and implement agreed solutions with support from more experienced engineers when needed.
Develop knowledge of cloud-native and Data & AI platform technologies and explore relevant technologies to improve the platform.
