Plant Production - Weigh-Out
About The Position
Serves as a member of the front-line production team, performing tasks that support production at a high-capacity commercial laundry plant and help meet customer needs. Work may involve dryer or wash operation, stain washing, sewing and mending, soil sorting, folding, commercial ironing, packing, and distributing. This position maintains the flow of linen through the production process and loads linen into tunnel pockets according to required load sizes and production standards. The employee follows directions and safety precautions and alerts a supervisor when recurring technical problems affect production.
Responsibilities
- Maintains the flow of linen into the tunnel, washers, dryers, and other equipment.
- Pulls bags and/or processes other laundry activities in the designated order.
- Loads linen into empty tunnel pockets as they transfer.
- Keeps pockets correctly loaded with the proper load size and prevents overloads.
- Follows directions and safety precautions.
- Maintains hourly production standards.
- Notifies a supervisor if frequent technical problems are affecting the ability to meet production standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
