About The Position

The Pre-Weigh Supervisor oversees daily operations and personnel within the Pre-Weigh Department, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining strict adherence to safety, cGMP, and procedural standards. The role includes managing the preparation and transfer of raw materials, leading the team, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational requirements. The supervisor verifies raw materials and adjustment chemicals against pre-weigh documentation and measurement tolerances, oversees documentation and electronic data entry, and coordinates transfers of raw materials to compounding. The role also includes training employees, collaborating with other leaders to improve efficiency, managing calibration of balances and scales, supporting audits and inspections, operating the liquid waste system, and helping update work instructions, SOPs, and training materials. Some duties may vary slightly by location.

Requirements

Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent experience.
4–6 years in batch manufacturing or liquid blending in food, personal care, or pharmaceutical environments, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
High proficiency in ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements.
High proficiency in leading, training, and developing a high-performing team.
High proficiency in managing schedules, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
High proficiency in communicating with team members, leaders, and cross-functional teams.
Medium proficiency in identifying and resolving operational challenges.
Medium proficiency in using and calibrating scales, managing data systems, and operating machinery.
Ability to frequently lift and move materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
Medium proficiency in MS Office Suite and manufacturing-related software.

Nice To Haves

4–6 years of familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
4–6 years of experience with OSHA and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

Verify raw materials and adjustment chemicals against pre-weigh documentation and measurement tolerances.
Oversee proper documentation and electronic data entry in accordance with SOPs and cGMP standards.
Provide leadership and guidance to Pre-Weigh Technicians.
Train employees on procedures, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Manage the transfer of raw materials to compounding for intermediates and bulk production.
Coordinate with the warehouse and maintain records in the Enterprise system (Epicor).
Collaborate with Team Leaders and Supervisors to optimize efficiency.
Manage calibration of balances and scales within the Pre-Weigh Department.
Oversee adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Participate in audits and ensure readiness for inspections.
Operate and oversee the liquid waste system.
Assist in formalizing and updating work instructions, SOPs, and training materials.
