About The Position

Rowan’s Piercing Studio Nurse reports to the Studio Manager and provides safe, clean, and joyful ear-piercing services. The nurse uses clinical expertise to perform piercings carefully and precisely while creating a celebratory, reassuring customer experience aligned with Rowan’s Clinical Piercing Standards. The role includes customer education and aftercare guidance, personalized ear evaluation and earring placement, maintaining aseptic conditions, sterilizing instruments and jewelry, and supporting studio operations.

The nurse collaborates with the Studio Manager and team to maintain a welcoming studio, keep stations stocked, address operational concerns, and support studio performance goals. The position may include mentoring and training new nurses. Compensation is listed as $24–$49 per hour, including a $24 base wage and estimated tips of up to $25 per hour once fully trained; tips are customer-provided, variable, and not guaranteed. Full-time new hires are eligible for a sign-on bonus, with details discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN/LVN license.
• Eligible to obtain or already possess a body art license or registration as required by applicable state and local laws.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, celebratory, and memorable customer experiences during piercing sessions.
• Ensure customer safety and comfort and maintain a smooth flow of care.
• Communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with customers throughout their piercing experience.
• Help customers feel comfortable and address concerns during the piercing process.
• Educate customers about aftercare and Rowan After Care to support healing and well-being.
• Evaluate customers’ ears to identify appropriate earring placement and provide personalized styling advice.
• Monitor customer experience and address issues promptly while upholding Rowan’s clinical piercing standards.
• Maintain a sterile and aseptic nurse station and procedure tray; clean and sanitize surfaces, instruments, and supplies.
• Apply knowledge of skin care and infection control and prevention when providing piercing services.
• Collaborate with the Studio Manager to support smooth operations and a joyful studio atmosphere.
• Fill shifts as needed and potentially mentor and train new nurses, including shadowing services and observing customer interactions.
• Report issues that may affect the customer experience and collaborate with management to resolve them.
• Keep piercing stations, nurse carts, mayo stands, and nurse nooks stocked and ready for customer needs.
• Sterilize jewelry and needle-piercing instruments.
• Follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines for sanitary and safe services.
• Support studio metrics, including revenue growth, piercing-service efficiency, average order value, and sales.
• Educate customers about Rowan After Care and the benefits of purchasing an extra pair of hypoallergenic, non-piercing jewelry.
• Escalate operational concerns and communicate solutions clearly to management and team members.
