About The Position
Rowan’s Piercing Studio Nurse provides safe, clean, and joyful ear-piercing services, using nursing expertise to perform piercings with care and precision. The nurse builds customer trust, communicates throughout the experience, and helps make each piercing a memorable milestone while following Rowan’s Clinical Piercing Standards and applicable health and safety guidelines. The role reports to the Studio Manager and operates in a retail studio environment, combining clinical care, customer service, and support for studio sales goals. The nurse also maintains sterile work areas, sterilizes jewelry and instruments, ensures stations are stocked, supports studio operations, and promptly communicates operational issues to management. Nurses may help mentor and train new nurses. The position requires an active RN or LPN/LVN license and eligibility for any applicable body art license or registration. Rowan welcomes newly licensed nurses and offers ongoing training and career pathways.
Requirements
- Active RN or LPN/LVN license.
- Eligible to obtain or possess a body art license or registration as required by applicable state and local laws.
- Professional, engaging customer-care approach; warm, friendly, and collaborative team member with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and non-technical information to customers and community members.
- Interest in a retail environment with sales goals.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment.
- Availability for a flexible schedule, including peak periods such as holidays and weekends.
- Open to all experience levels, including newly licensed nurses.

Responsibilities
- Provide safe, precise ear-piercing services and create a celebratory customer experience.
- Ensure customer safety, comfort, and a smooth flow of care; communicate clearly and professionally throughout the piercing experience.
- Help customers feel comfortable, address concerns, and provide personalized ear evaluations, earring placement, and styling advice.
- Educate customers about aftercare and Rowan After Care, including products that support healing.
- Monitor the customer experience and resolve or escalate issues to maintain clinical standards.
- Maintain sterile and aseptic conditions at the nurse station and procedure tray; clean and sanitize surfaces, instruments, and supplies.
- Apply knowledge of skin care and infection control and prevention when providing piercing services.
- Collaborate with the Studio Manager and team to support smooth operations and a joyful studio atmosphere; fill shifts as needed.
- May mentor and train new nurses, including shadowing services and observing customer interactions.
- Keep piercing stations and equipment stocked and ready, including the nurse cart, mayo stand, and nurse nook.
- Sterilize jewelry and needle-piercing instruments.
- Follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines for sanitary and safe services.
- Support studio metrics through efficient piercing services, revenue growth, and increased average order value; educate customers about aftercare and additional hypoallergenic jewelry.
- Communicate operational concerns promptly to management and team members and collaborate on solutions.
