About The Position

Rowan’s Piercing Studio Nurse reports to the Studio Manager and provides safe, clean, and joyful ear-piercing services. The nurse uses clinical skills and expertise to perform piercings with care and precision, build trust with customers, and make each piercing a memorable experience. The role combines clinical care, customer service, education, studio operations, inventory readiness, and support for sales goals. Nurses follow Rowan’s Clinical Piercing Standards and applicable state, federal, and CDC guidelines.

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN/LVN license.
• Eligible to obtain or possess a body art license or registration as required by applicable state and local laws.
• Professional, engaging approach to customer care.
• Warm, friendly, team-oriented approach and entrepreneurial spirit.
• Interest in working in a retail environment with sales goals.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including peak periods such as holidays and weekends.
• Commitment to exceptional service and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Nice To Haves

• Additional training in pediatrics and/or ear piercing is a plus.
• Experience level is open; newly licensed nurses are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide a memorable customer experience by combining clinical care with a celebratory atmosphere during piercing sessions.
• Ensure customers’ safety, comfort, and smooth flow of care; communicate clearly and professionally throughout the experience.
• Help customers feel comfortable, address their concerns, and provide aftercare education, including information about Rowan After Care.
• Evaluate customers’ ears to identify suitable earring placement and provide personalized styling advice.
• Monitor the customer experience, address issues promptly, and maintain Rowan’s clinical piercing standards.
• Maintain a sterile and aseptic nurse station and procedure tray; clean and sanitize surfaces, instruments, and supplies to prevent contamination.
• Apply knowledge of skin care and infection prevention to provide personalized piercing services.
• Collaborate with the Studio Manager to support smooth operations and a joyful studio atmosphere; fill shifts as needed.
• May mentor and train new nurses, including by shadowing piercing services and observing customer interactions.
• Report issues that could affect the customer experience and work with management to resolve them.
• Keep piercing stations, including the nurse cart, mayo stand, and nurse nook, stocked and ready for customer needs.
• Sterilize jewelry and needle-piercing instruments.
• Follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines to maintain sanitary and safe services.
• Support studio metrics through high-quality service, revenue growth, efficient piercing services, increased average order value, and sales.
• Educate customers about Rowan After Care and the benefits of purchasing an extra pair of hypoallergenic, non-piercing jewelry to promote healing.
• Address and escalate operational concerns, communicating clearly with management and team members to implement solutions.
