About The Position

Dartmouth Cancer Center (DCC), the Geisel School of Medicine, and Dartmouth Health are jointly recruiting junior faculty pursuing careers in cancer research. Physician-scientists and clinician-investigators or clinical trialists from all clinical specialties are encouraged to apply if pursuing basic, translational, clinical, or population-based cancer research. Successful applicants will be appointed as Assistant or Associate Professors in the appropriate Dartmouth department and become full DCC members. Protected research time and generous start-up packages will be provided. The Cancer Population Sciences (CPS) program develops a scientific basis for health care delivery innovations, policy development, and methodological advances intended to improve health outcomes across the cancer continuum, from prevention through survivorship. Its investigators pursue work in one or more of three themes: Life Course Cancer Epidemiology, Health Care Delivery Science, and Methodological Advances in Population Sciences. CPS members are closely integrated with The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice and Dartmouth’s Molecular Epidemiology Center for Biomedical Research Excellence. DCC is an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of 57 nationally and the only one north of Boston and east of Buffalo. Following renewal of its NCI designation in 2024, the center is poised to enter its second half-century of continuous designation. In addition to a clinical trials enterprise, DCC has four NCI-funded research programs: Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy, Cancer Signaling, Genomes and Networks, Translational Engineering in Cancer, and Cancer Population Sciences. Successful applicants report to their appropriate Section Chief and Department Chair. Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in a cancer-related clinical specialty and eligible for medical licensure in New Hampshire and Vermont. The required licensure section also states that candidates must obtain a New Hampshire medical license. Dartmouth Health describes its commitment to an inclusive environment that supports and celebrates the diversity of its patients, people, and community, and to equity and inclusion.
