Physician Clinic Medical Director
About The Position
The Physician Clinic Medical Director is a clinic-based role that combines direct patient care with clinical leadership and business support. Most time is spent treating patients, with remaining time focused on quality improvement and developing the center business alongside the Center Leadership Team. The role leads by example to provide an exceptional patient experience and helps ensure the day-to-day execution of Concentra’s medical model in collaboration with therapists and specialists. The Medical Director manages clinicians and support staff, supports clinic staffing and budget decisions, maintains relationships with center clients and payers, and promotes a professional, collaborative, safe, and quality-focused environment. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Compensation includes a base salary of $229,000 to $280,000, depending on job-related factors, plus potential bonuses and a monthly Medical Director stipend. A $50,000 bonus is also highlighted in the posting.
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted medical license.
- Unrestricted DEA license and dispensing license for the state of jurisdiction, required before the start date.
- Must be eligible to participate in Medicare.
Nice To Haves
- Board certification or eligibility in an ABMS- or AOA-recognized specialty.
- FMCSA NRCME certification, or willingness to obtain it.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and lead by example to create an exceptional patient experience.
- Lead healthcare management and day-to-day execution of the medical model, collaborating with therapists and specialists to drive clinical outcomes and case closure.
- Manage clinicians and support staff and comply with APC supervisory requirements.
- Create a professional and collaborative working environment.
- Work with leaders to identify and implement changes that support continuous medical clinic improvement.
- Maintain relationships with center clients and payers.
- Work with the medical clinic leadership team to manage clinical and support staffing levels.
- Promote and exemplify Concentra values among clinic colleagues.
- Foster collaboration, professionalism, patient and colleague safety, quality care, continuous improvement, and reward and recognition.
- Demonstrate financial awareness and provide input on the clinic budget and key business metrics.
