About The Position

Concentra’s clinic-based Medical Director spends most of the time providing direct patient care, with the remaining time focused on quality improvements and building the center’s business with the Center Leadership Team. The role blends clinical care with management responsibilities and is intended to support an exceptional patient experience, strong clinical outcomes, and effective day-to-day clinic operations. The Medical Director leads by example, oversees clinicians and support staff, collaborates with therapists and specialists, and works with clinic leadership on staffing, improvement initiatives, client and payer relationships, and budget and business metrics. The role also promotes a collaborative, professional, safe, and quality-focused workplace.

Requirements

Active and unrestricted medical license.
Unrestricted DEA license and a dispensing license for the state of jurisdiction, required before the start date.
Must be eligible to participate in Medicare.

Nice To Haves

Board Certification or eligibility in an ABMS- or AOA-recognized specialty.
FMCSA NRCME certification or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and lead by example to create an exceptional patient experience.
Lead healthcare management to ensure day-to-day execution of the medical model, collaborating with therapists and specialists to drive optimal clinical outcomes and case closure.
Manage clinicians and support staff and comply with APC supervisory requirements.
Create a professional and collaborative working environment.
Work with leaders to identify and implement changes that support continuous medical clinic improvement.
Maintain relationships with center clients and payers.
Work with the medical clinic leadership team to manage clinical and support staffing levels.
Promote, cultivate, and exemplify Concentra values for clinic colleagues.
Foster collaboration, professionalism, patient and colleague safety, quality care, continuous improvement, and reward and recognition.
Demonstrate financial awareness and provide input on the clinic budget and key business metrics.
