The Physician Clinic Medical Director is a clinic-based physician role that combines direct patient care with medical leadership and clinic-management responsibilities. Most of the position is spent clinically treating patients, with remaining time devoted to quality improvement and developing the center business with the Center Leadership Team. The Medical Director leads by example to provide an exceptional patient experience and works with therapists, specialists, clinicians, support staff, and clinic leaders to support effective care and clinic operations. Responsibilities also include managing clinicians and support staff, maintaining relationships with center clients and payers, contributing to staffing decisions and clinic budgets, and fostering a professional, collaborative environment focused on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and recognition. The role requires an active, unrestricted medical license, an unrestricted DEA license, and a state dispensing license before the start date, as well as eligibility to participate in Medicare. Board certification or eligibility in an ABMS- or AOA-recognized specialty is preferred. FMCSA NRCME certification is preferred, or the physician must be willing to obtain it. Many clinics offer weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no nights, weekends, holidays, or call. Benefits and compensation may include a competitive base salary, incentive opportunities, paid time off, insurance coverage, retirement matching, education support, and professional development. Specific schedules and applicable benefits may vary.
