About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is hiring a per diem Physician Assistant - Pediatrics at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. The position is assigned to Labor & Delivery (L&D), the Mother-Baby Unit, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Working under the supervision of an Attending Physician, the Physician Assistant collaborates with Resident Physicians and Attending Physicians/Neonatologists on the unit to provide direct patient care, participate in performance improvement activities, and coordinate with Social Services and Nursing staff, including attending discharge planning meetings.

Requirements

• Current New York State Physician Assistant registration.
• Current certification issued by the NCCPA.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in Labor & Delivery, the Mother-Baby Unit, and the NICU.
• Perform procedures and blood draws.
• Attend deliveries.
• Conduct daily patient assessments and implement daily patient care plans.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Collaborate with Social Services and Nursing staff.
• Attend discharge planning meetings.
