Physician Assistant Per Diem
About The Position
UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to work at urgent care centers in the greater Pittsburgh area and across Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The role offers a variety of clinical concerns and opportunities for shared decision-making and problem-solving, with patient scheduling designed to support wellness, efficiency, and safe care. Centers use an integrated EPIC EMR, point-of-care testing, and on-site X-ray. Clinicians collaborate with an on-site radiologic technologist and medical assistants as clinical team leaders and share experience and training with other clinicians and staff. Team members have a primary home center and may also work at nearby secondary centers. Scheduling flexibility is available to accommodate vacations and wellness days Monday through Friday; weekend shifts and limited on-call availability are required.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of full-time Emergency Medicine experience, or 2 years of Urgent Care experience; 2 years of Family Medicine experience will also be considered.
- Comfort with minor procedures, including sutures, casts, and splints.
- Ability to provide preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays.
- Experience treating patients from newborn age and up in an acute care setting.
- For Physician Assistants: a master's degree and NCCPA certification.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients in an urgent care setting, including patients from newborn age and up.
- Perform minor procedures such as sutures, casts, and splints.
- Provide preliminary interpretations of EKGs and X-rays.
- Collaborate with an on-site radiologic technologist and medical assistants as a clinical team leader.
- Share experience and training with other clinicians and staff.
- Work at an assigned primary center and nearby secondary centers as needed.
