About The Position

This is a travel Physical Therapist position for a generalist role in Waimea, Hawaii. The temporary assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/28/2026. The role involves a mix of inpatient and outpatient care in a rural island setting, requiring independence and comprehensive care approaches for a broad range of outpatient diagnoses and inpatient mobility progression, plus discharge planning. The position offers guaranteed hours and consistent weekly pay.

Requirements

Hawaii Physical Therapist license required; must obtain Hawaii PT license as soon as possible
Ability to work across inpatient and outpatient settings, including ER, ICU, Med/Surg, SNF, with occasional OB
Competent in PT evaluations and treatments with independence in outpatient care
Availability to work Saturdays as required and flexibility to accommodate scheduling
Ability to complete onboarding and compliance requirements via the required portal and documentation process

Responsibilities

Perform PT evaluations and provide treatments across inpatient and outpatient settings
Support mobility progression and discharge planning for patients transitioning from acute care to SNF or outpatient clinics
Work in ER, ICU, Med/Surg (Acute, Observation, SNF) and occasionally in OB, with extensive outpatient clinic involvement
Maintain a balanced schedule with outpatient visits every 30–45 minutes and new evaluations around 60 minutes, potentially handling 5–15 patients per day
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document care, and ensure patient safety and education throughout the care continuum
