About The Position

This is a travel Physical Therapist position for a General Physical Therapist role at a Critical Access Hospital in Fort Bragg, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The role focuses on outpatient-duties and requires the therapist to plan and conduct treatment programs to restore and improve physical function, perform patient evaluations, establish individualized treatment plans, deliver physical therapy interventions using evidence-based techniques, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, develop care and discharge plans, and complete clinical documentation. The position also involves supervising assigned assistants as needed.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required; only if license obtained on or after January 2016, or foreign equivalent
  • Active Physical Therapy license in the state of practice (California)
  • CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per facility policy
  • Minimum two years of physical therapy experience required
  • Outpatient experience and strong documentation skills
  • Ability to work in a travel assignment within a rural, acute care setting

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct segments of treatment programs to restore and improve physical function, while aligning with department goals
  • Perform patient evaluations and establish individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver physical therapy interventions using evidence-based techniques and protocols
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and co-lead groups of patients as appropriate
  • Develop care plans and discharge plans, ensuring clear communication with patients, families, and care teams
  • Complete comprehensive, timely clinical documentation and supervise assigned assistants as needed
