About The Position

This is a temporary travel assignment for a Physical Therapist in a long-term care/nursing home setting in Gainesville, VA. The contract duration is 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/23/2026. The role involves providing comprehensive physical therapy services to residents to improve their mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence. The position guarantees 32 hours per week with a shift of 8x4 Days.

Requirements

Active Physical Therapist license in the United States or eligibility for Virginia licensure
Availability to work 32 guaranteed hours per week, typically 5 days per week
Ability to work in a long-term care/geriatric setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills; effective collaboration with the care team
Ability to document patient progress accurately and follow facility policies

Responsibilities

Conduct initial evaluations and ongoing assessments of residents’ physical therapy needs
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence
Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities; apply appropriate modalities
Reassess progress, document outcomes in resident records, and communicate with an interdisciplinary care team
Facilitate discharge planning and caregiver education; promote safety and independence
Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and documentation standards
