About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a 13-week contract as a Physical Therapist in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Waterville, Maine. The role offers guaranteed hours and a weekly pay range of $2,426–$2,500. The shift pattern is 5x8 days, with duties conducted during daytime hours (08:00–16:30).

Requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
  • Active Physical Therapist license and eligibility to practice in Maine (or current licensure as applicable)
  • Experience in or demonstrated comfort with a skilled nursing/geriatric rehabilitation setting
  • Ability to participate in a travel assignment and meet the schedule requirements
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; proficient in patient documentation and progress reporting
  • Capacity to work the stated shift and maintain the guaranteed hours

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations for residents, establishing individualized treatment plans aligned with short- and long-term goals.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions, including gait training, therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular reeducation, balance training, and functional mobility activities.
  • Monitor progress, document outcomes, adjust treatment plans, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement discharge planning and progress toward functional goals, collaborating with nursing, physicians, and therapy aides as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, documentation requirements, and facility policies; participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
