About The Position

This is a travel Physical Therapist position in Charlotte, North Carolina, for an acute care and rehabilitation services role. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on August 17, 2026, with guaranteed 40 hours per week. The role involves working within a clinical team to provide comprehensive physical therapy services.

Requirements

  • Current State License as a Physical Therapist
  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association-approved program
  • Proof of current CPR certification
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting
  • Current driver’s license with reliable transportation and insurance
  • Ability to work in an acute care or inpatient rehabilitation setting
  • Flexible schedule and travel locally
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Nice To Haves

  • Previous home health experience preferred
  • Bilingual ability

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical assessments to identify patient needs and determine eligibility for physical therapy services; develop and maintain a Plan of Care (POC) and associated progress notes.
  • Document, review, and revise the POC based on ongoing assessment data; coordinate care in consultation with the physician and an interdisciplinary team.
  • Plan and deliver targeted treatment for neuromuscular, neurological, and orthopedic conditions according to medical referral and therapy evaluations.
  • Instruct patients and families in transfer techniques suitable to patient abilities; educate on proper use of mobility aids and equipment (walkers, canes, wheelchairs, braces, prosthetic devices) and adapt equipment as needed.
  • Order and manage rehabilitative equipment to meet patient needs; ensure equipment and adaptations consider home environment and safety.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding therapeutic procedures, tailored to age, condition, culture, and learning readiness; supervise or mentor other team members when appropriate.
  • Apply infection control and universal precautions in all care activities; accept clinical assignments within education and competence; perform other related duties as requested.
