About The Position

Aquacare and Fitness Forum Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist - Clinical Director for their Milford, Delaware office. This is a leadership opportunity within a physical-therapist-owned private practice that has been operating for over 27 years with 12 clinics across Maryland and Delaware. The role is designed for a clinician who wants to develop leadership skills while still maintaining hands-on patient care. The Clinic Director acts as the CEO of their clinic, responsible for the quality of care, patient experience, financial and operational health, and team engagement. While the director leads their clinic, they are supported by a leadership and support team for billing, marketing, hiring, and operations, with direct access to the owner. The position emphasizes building a positive team culture and fostering a supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in outpatient orthopedics
  • Ability to manage clinic performance, patient experience, financial and operational health, and staff.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Willingness to treat patients and maintain a caseload.
  • Proficiency in EMR documentation, preferably Prompt EMR.
  • Must be able to bring forward issues and help build solutions.
  • Must be able to work with a team of therapists, PTAs, and techs.

  • Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification.
  • Experience in specialty areas such as pelvic floor, women’s health, aquatics, sports rehabilitation, LSVT BIG for Parkinson's, balance and vestibular therapy, neurological rehabilitation, dance rehabilitation, or lymphedema treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall performance of the clinic, including quality of care, patient experience, financial and operational health, and staff management.
  • Serve as the chief culture officer, ensuring the team is engaged, supported, and performing at their best.
  • Collaborate with the leadership and support team on billing, marketing, hiring, and operations.
  • Bring forward issues and help develop solutions.
  • Treat patients with a caseload of fewer than 11 patients per day, focusing on one-on-one care without a productivity quota.
  • Document patient care using Prompt EMR with AI-assisted notes, aiming to complete documentation during working hours.
  • Work alongside 6-8 therapists and additional PTAs and techs.
  • Treat a general outpatient orthopedic caseload with a mix of ages and diagnoses, with opportunities to work with specialists in pelvic floor, women’s health, aquatics, sports, and more.
  • Develop expertise in a chosen specialty area.
  • Mentor and guide junior clinicians.
  • Potentially take on roles such as program lead or build specialty programs from scratch.
