About The Position

AID Performance Physical Therapy is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for a consistent, part-time position in an independent outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinic. This role is ideal for someone looking to balance work with other responsibilities or add predictable hours to an existing schedule. The PTA will provide follow-up treatments, implement and progress interventions under the guidance of the supervising physical therapist, collect objective measurements, and monitor patient responses. The clinic owner retains responsibility for evaluations, reevaluations, plans of care, and overall patient management. The position offers approximately 12-20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours, and can be structured around recurring weekday blocks, including school-day hours.

Requirements

• Active or eligible Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Dependability and commitment to a consistent recurring schedule
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the supervising physical therapist
• Comfort working with active adults, athletes, and orthopedic patients

Nice To Haves

• Outpatient orthopedic or sports experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized plans of care established by the supervising physical therapist
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, functional activities, and other appropriate interventions
• Progress treatments within the established plan of care and the PTA’s scope of practice
• Monitor patient responses and communicate meaningful changes to the supervising physical therapist
• Collect objective measurements and treatment data when appropriate
• Assist patients in progressing toward functional, recreational, and return-to-sport goals
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation with AI-scribe support
• Communicate effectively with patients and the clinical team
• Help maintain a supportive, organized, and patient-first clinic environment
