About The Position

The Dishwasher works efficiently to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment so the kitchen and service areas run smoothly. The role maintains a clean, organized workspace, follows safety and sanitation procedures, and ensures the kitchen team has the tools and equipment it needs ready at all times. Full availability is required. The position also includes providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable customer service and prioritizing customer assistance over other tasks. The work involves operating a commercial dishwasher or washing items by hand, cleaning kitchen and production areas, handling deliveries and waste, and helping with prep work or other department needs. The employee must work at a productive pace, especially during holidays and busy times, and be able to meet the listed physical demands.

Ability to consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for the duration of the shift.
Ability to occasionally ascend and descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder.
Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the duration of the shift.
Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
Ability to move into different positions to accomplish tasks, including in tight and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, polite, and knowledgeable customer service; greet customers personally and thank them for shopping at Adams.
Operate dishwashing machines or wash items by hand, monitoring water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycles when using machines.
Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment, preparation areas, and production areas during shifts and at closing; put items away once dry.
Clean and mop floors, keep work-area floors clean and dry, and keep department storage areas clean and organized.
Receive deliveries, check weights for accuracy, and match inventory to the bill.
Bag trash and dispose of it in the compactor, and handle recycling.
Fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient department operations, including doing prep work or assisting customers.
Prioritize customer assistance over the task at hand when a customer needs help.
Work efficiently and collaboratively, communicate with co-workers and managers, and support the kitchen team.
