About The Position

The Maintenance Associate helps ensure the entire store is clean, safe, and well-maintained, addressing issues promptly and supporting a welcoming environment for customers and employees. The role includes providing friendly customer service and assisting customers when needed, as well as performing routine cleaning, property upkeep, and other assigned maintenance tasks. The position requires availability from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the week and open availability on weekends.

Requirements

• Keep the shopping and work environment clean and safe.
• Assist customers whenever needed.
• Demonstrate and set an example for Adams’ culture and values.
• Work collaboratively and communicate with co-workers and managers.
• Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity, and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality.
• Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Push up to 6–7 carts at a time.
• Be able to work with exposure to outdoor weather conditions and temperatures.
• Occasionally ascend and descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder.
• Perform repetitive motions that may involve the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the duration of a shift.
• Communicate with others to exchange information.
• Move into different positions to accomplish tasks, including in tight and confined spaces.
• Have availability from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the week and open availability on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service and assist customers when needed, including loading heavy items.
• Keep store floors and walkways clean and safe by sweeping, mopping, handling spills, and using wet floor signs.
• Keep bathrooms clean and stocked.
• Remove carts from the parking lot and take out garbage as needed.
• Perform general property upkeep, including shoveling, salting, sanding, and basic landscaping.
• Sweep and maintain the cleanliness of exterior walkways.
• Complete additional cleaning or maintenance tasks when assigned, including using a floor scrubber or making local customer deliveries.
