About The Position

The Cheese and Coffee Associate provides knowledgeable, courteous customer service and helps customers select specialty cheeses, coffees, and related products. The role includes maintaining fresh, well-stocked, correctly labeled, and attractively displayed products, while supporting a clean and organized department. Associates are expected to reflect Adams’ customer-service culture by treating customers and coworkers with respect, communicating collaboratively, and demonstrating enthusiasm for the company’s products and quality. Depending on assignment, the associate may also assist with inventory, orders, deliveries, training, and food safety certification. The position is part-time and pays $16.50–$21.45 per hour.

Ability to work in cold temperatures for the majority of the shift.
Ability to safely use knives and other equipment needed to run the department.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for the duration of the shift.
Ability to occasionally use a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder.
Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the duration of the shift.
Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
Ability to move into different positions to accomplish tasks, including in tight and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, informed service and help customers select products, samples, and special orders.
Cut, weigh, grind, and package cheese, coffee, dips, spreads, and other specialty items.
Stock and rotate products to maintain freshness, correct labeling, and attractive displays.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of department areas, counters, tools, and equipment.
Brew coffee and keep the coffee station and sample area clean and well-stocked.
Take and accurately prepare catering, custom platter, and special orders.
Monitor product quality and presentation, including sell-by dates and packaging.
If assigned, assist with inventory, placing orders, receiving deliveries, or training new associates.
If assigned, obtain food safety certification.
Treat customers and coworkers with courtesy and respect and collaborate with team members and managers.
