About The Position

The Bakery Associate provides friendly, knowledgeable customer service while helping maintain the quality, freshness, and presentation of baked goods. The role supports daily bakery operations, including packaging and displaying products, stocking and rotating inventory, assisting with basic baking tasks, and keeping bakery areas clean. Associates may also help bakers and decorators with deliveries and preparing items for sale, and may finish cakes or donuts or make apple cider donuts when assigned. Responsibilities may change based on business needs.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Knowledge of bakery goods, or willingness to learn about the products sold.
Willingness to learn and demonstrate Adams’ culture and values.
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with coworkers and managers.
Enthusiasm, positivity, and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality.
Ability to consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to remain stationary for the duration of a shift.
Ability to occasionally use a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder.
Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the duration of a shift.
Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
Ability to move into different positions, including in tight or confined spaces, to accomplish tasks.
Ability to work quickly and productively with coworkers.

Responsibilities

Provide helpful service to customers in person and over the phone, including asking questions and taking orders.
Greet and thank customers to create a welcoming shopping experience.
Package and display fresh baked goods while maintaining quality and presentation.
Stay informed about bakery products, prices, and current promotions.
Rotate and stock products to maintain freshness and keep displays full and organized.
Assist with basic baking tasks, such as setting up cookies and muffins or making donuts.
Clean bakery areas, including dishes, equipment, and display cases.
Support bakers and decorators as needed, including receiving deliveries and preparing items for sale.
Write on cakes and finish cakes and donuts for display if assigned.
Make apple cider donuts if assigned.
Assist bakers, decorators, and the porter as needed throughout the shift.
Follow department safety policies and procedures.
