Maintenance Associate (Part Time, Flexible Schedule)
About The Position
The Maintenance Associate ensures the entire store is clean, safe, and well-maintained, addressing issues promptly and supporting a welcoming environment for customers and employees through consistent upkeep and care. The role also includes providing friendly customer service and assisting customers when needed. The position requires availability from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the week and open availability on weekends. Working conditions include regularly moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing up to 6–7 carts at a time, outdoor exposure, occasional ladder or stepstool use, repetitive hand and wrist motions, communication with others, and working in tight or confined spaces.
Requirements
- Be available from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the week and have open availability on weekends.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and employees.
- Assist customers when needed.
- Demonstrate and set an example for Adams’ culture and values.
- Work collaboratively and communicate with co-workers and managers.
- Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity, and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality.
- Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Push up to 6–7 carts at a time.
- Be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- Occasionally ascend or descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder.
- Repeat motions that may involve the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the duration of a shift.
- Communicate with others to exchange information and move into different positions to accomplish tasks, including in tight and confined spaces.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, helpful service and assist customers when needed, including loading heavy items.
- Keep store floors and walkways clean and safe by sweeping, mopping, handling spills, and using wet floor signs.
- Keep bathrooms clean and stocked.
- Remove carts from the parking lot and take out garbage as needed.
- Perform general property upkeep, including shoveling, salting, sanding, and basic landscaping.
- Sweep and maintain the cleanliness of exterior walkways.
- Complete additional cleaning or maintenance tasks when assigned, including using a floor scrubber or making local customer deliveries.
