About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for its Bemidji Clinic. The role collects blood and other fluid samples from patients and residents, explains procedures, gathers relevant health information, and helps ensure patient safety and accurate documentation. The position is PRN. Candidates with little to no phlebotomy experience must be available to complete full-time training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Candidates with little to no phlebotomy experience must be available to complete full-time training.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Experience in a laboratory-related field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric.
• Prepare and package samples for pickup.
• Maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Accurately document blood draws in patient charts.
• Collect and manage blood samples and other specimens while ensuring patient and resident safety.
• Follow standard procedures and safety regulations, including asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures.
• Communicate with patients and residents, collect health information, and answer questions about phlebotomy procedures.
