About The Position

The American Red Cross is hiring a Phlebotomist and provides paid training for candidates without healthcare experience. The role supports community blood drives by welcoming and assisting donors, collecting blood, and handling blood products according to safety and quality standards. Staff travel to mobile blood drive locations and work as a team to set up and take down equipment. The schedule varies according to donor and community needs and is provided 2–3 weeks in advance; it may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight travel.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.
Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
Good manual dexterity and ability to sit or stand for long periods.
Ability to adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
The position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
Ability to work with a team to set up and tear down equipment for mobile blood drives.

Nice To Haves

Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience, such as CNA, MA, or EMT experience.
Prior leadership experience.
