About The Position

Responsible for the implementation and coordination of the pharmacy residency program. Responsible for continuous residency program improvement in conjunction with the residency advisory committee and pharmacy administration.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D; Bachelor of Pharmacy) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
  • Five years’ experience; OR three years’ experience with completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency; OR one year of experience with completion of ASHP-accredited PGY-2 residency
  • State of Work Location: Illinois Pharmacist, Registered - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical pharmacy experience with demonstrated knowledge of ASHP residency program management and accreditation.
  • Experience in educational leadership, curriculum development, and program compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organization and leadership of a residency advisory committee that provides guidance for residency program conduct and related issues.
  • Oversees the progression of residents within the program and documentation of completed requirements.
  • Appoint and develop pharmacy staff to become preceptors for the program with criteria consistent with those required by accrediting organization.
  • Responsible for evaluation, skills assessment, and development of preceptors in the program and creating and implementing a preceptor development plan for the residency program.
  • Assume the role of the ASHP defined Residency Program Director or Residency Coordinator.
  • Precept pharmacy students and residents, as applicable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
