The Personal Training Director is the business owner of the Personal Training department at one assigned club location and is accountable for its performance, profitability, and member experience. The role leads by example, serves as the location’s fitness expert, builds and retains a qualified training team, maintains staffing capacity to meet member demand, and delivers departmental targets for revenue, new-client enrollment, retention, and client results. The Director also personally provides qualifying Personal Training sessions and maintains an active client base. The position is the first line of resolution for most departmental business, operational, staffing, and performance matters. When the department is understaffed, the Director maintains service levels and session delivery while prioritizing recruitment. Matters requiring Human Resources, Legal, Regional Director of Fitness, or other designated leadership involvement must be escalated. The role leads the Personal Training department at a single club location and manages or provides leadership oversight to Personal Training Directors in Training, Elite Trainers, Master Trainers, and Personal Trainers. The Director owns revenue and profitability goals; recruits, develops, and coaches staff; oversees staffing schedules, payroll accuracy, wage-and-hour compliance, qualifications, and onboarding; and ensures appropriate use of company technology, reporting, and data-security systems. The role promotes professional, results-driven training, client documentation, retention, monthly results reviews, and accurate collections and billing. It also drives approved retail and supplementation sales and supports local marketing and member-engagement activities. This is an exempt position based at a single assigned club. It requires a significant time commitment, regular presence on the training floor during peak member hours, and regular evenings, weekends, and extended hours as business needs require. Occasional travel for company meetings, training, regional events, and new-club support may be required.
